Someone once said that Tempranillo could never be ripened in the Awatere Valley as it's too cold - so what did we do? We planted some! Always the to last ripen, Tempranillo is a team favourite here at Yealands as it signals the end of the long hours and physical work required at vintage for both the vineyard and winery teams. Characterised by flavours of tamarillo, clove, and ripe berry fruit with firms tannins.
