State of Flux Chardonnay 2019
Cameron Douglas: 94/100
“This zero oak influenced wine showcases aromas and flavours of white peach and apple, lemon and lees autolysis. Quietly complex and needs time in glass to open up fully. Satin textures from lees and acidity, a core of fruit and mineral centric flavours present a wine with a point of difference. Great acid line and lengthy finish - a wine to enjoy from today and through 2026+”
Yealands Estate Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2020
Bob Campbell: 93/100 “Intense, pungent sauvignon blanc with passionfruit and guava flavours that contrast with lime, capsicum, and lemongrass characters. Nice sweet-and-sour balance builds a little tension. A classic Marlborough (rather than Awatere) sauvignon blanc.”
JamesSuckling.com: 91/100
“A vividly fresh sauvignon, sourced from the Seaview Vineyard in the Awatere Valley. Fresh tropical and citrus fruit abounds and there’s an attractively mouthwatering edge to the finish. Drink now.”
Yealands Estate Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019
The Wine Writer: 5 stars
“Separate parcels of fruit are fermented using a combination of wild and inoculated yeasts. Gently pressed and aged in a mixture of French oak barriques and cuves for eight months. Vegetarian and vegan friendly. Stunning, bright crimson in colour. Pop the lamb in the oven now and put this wine in the decanter! The powerful aromas jump from the glass, juicy plum, boysenberry, smoky oak, and a touch of savouriness. Richly textured and flavoured, ripe red and dark fruit, and spice with a subtle tannin structure and a long and deliciously fruit driven finish.”
JamesSuckling.com: 90/100
“This has some more complex style than the other Yealands 2019, packed with blueberry and violet aromas, some blood orange, as well as toasty and spicy oak. The palate has a plush, easygoing feel and holds smooth, fleshy dark-cherry flavor. Drink now.”
Yealands Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2020
Cameron Douglas: 94/100
“Bold and very expressive with aromas of fruits and fresh herbs, pineapple and mango, apple and grapefruit, sage and basil. Crisp, tense, dry and well made with a core of ripe citrus and tree fruits, layers of tropical fruit and savoury herbs accentuated by youthful razor-sharp acidity. Well made with a lengthy finish. Best drinking from today and through 2023.”
Joelle Thomson: 18.5/20
“Grapes were harvested between 27 March and 14 April to make this dry, concentrated Sauvignon Blanc from the small thick skinned grapes grown on the Seaview Vineyard on the coast in Marlborough. The fruit was all destemmed, gently pressed and cold settled for 72 hours then cool fermented to preserve the 2020 season’s rich flavours on the palate and super appealing aromatics on the nose. Its modest price adds to the value of this great white from an excellent and memorable season, in more ways than one.”
Yvonne Lorkin: 5 stars
“Marlborough’s Awatere Valley is famous for turning out sauvignon blanc saturated with high-toned florals, intense minerality, lemongrassy goodness and buckets of green herbs on the nose and palate. This wine is swollen with sensationally sweaty characters, tomato stalk zinginess and a whole potager garden of herbaceousness. Love it!”

“Produced at the Toitu carbon zero winery in the Awatere Valley, this vegan wine is a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. Pale pink with a salmon hue. Delicious aromas of savoury strawberry, wild raspberry, cranberry and rose petals. This is a complex wine with layers of red fruits, spice, and mineral notes. A serious rose that is incredibly versatile, enjoy on its own or with a wide range of seafood, charcuterie, or Asian dishes.”
Yealands Reserve Pinot Gris 2020
Cameron Douglas- 93/100
“Ripe, fruity, bold and varietal. There's a fine savoury dried herb seam that is appealing adding complexity. On the palate - flavours of white fleshed fruits, lemon and pith, some honeysuckle and white spice. There's a salty edge to the acidity - nice! Perfectly weighted, fruity and savoury, warming alcohol and lengthy finish. Well made and ready to enjoy from today and through 2024+.”
