More Medals for Yealands at World's Leading Wine Competition.

The world's leading wine competition has revealed the year's top scoring wines. The 2023 Decanter World Wine Awards received the most wine entries in the competitions 20 year history, with 18,250 wines from 57 countries evaluated.

The 2023 competition saw an influential troupe of 236 wine experts, including 53 Masters of Wine and 16 Master Sommeliers, come together from 30 nations. With over 100 overseas judges and talented regional specialists focused on what’s in the glass, DWWA results offer consumers and trade a trustworthy guide to the dynamic world of wine.

More famously known for its herbaceous, racy Sauvignon Blancs, New Zealand’s top results saw a shift away from its most recognised variety, to its outstanding Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs. Of 27 Golds awarded, only 9 were for NZ's flagship grape.

Yealands Wines were pleased to receive eight medals from Decanter, one of the world's toughest and most credible wine competitions.
