Gewürztraminer

Gewürztraminer, meaning "Spice Traminer" or "Perfumed Traminer", originated in the Alsace region of France and is a mutation of Sauvignon Blanc. This variety ripens early at Seaview and is one of the first picks each vintage. We look for restrained flavours of rose, spice and Turkish Delight and like to ferment a decent portion of our Gewürztraminer in old french barrels to help build structure and weight into the wine.
