Our Seaview Vineyard in the Awatere Valley is exposed to some of the toughest growing conditions in Marlborough; high sunshine and wind, cool nights and low rainfall, which produces a smaller, thicker skinned berry with intense fruit flavours.
This wine is a blend of four different blocks on the property - two warmer, sheltered inland blocks and two cooler, coastal blocks.
This wine brings together in harmony the diverse spectrums of Seaview's many vineyard blocks.
This Sauvignon Blanc shows the wonderful typicity that our Seaview Vineyard is known for - highly aromatic fruit flavours with a vibrant palate and pure, elegant mineral finish.
Four parcels from the Seaview Vineyard were selected for this wine and harvested individually over three days. The fruit was crushed, de-stemmed then pressed gently prior to cold settling for 72 hours.
Enjoy as an aperitif, or with freshly shucked oysters, prawns, green lip mussels and clams. Also matches brilliantly with a goats cheese salad.

Estate-grown at Seaview, in the lower Awatere Valley, the 2015 vintage is pale and mouthfilling, with an almost ethereal delicacy and purity. It has excellent intensity of melon, lime and capsicum flavours that build across the palate to a finely balanced, dry (2.5 grams/litre of residual sugar), lasting finish. A classic Awatere Valley style.
The melon, peach and apricot flavours are fresh and vibrant, offering a fleshy succulence balanced against vibrant, lime juice- tinged acidity. A savoury, saline detail emerges on the finish. Drink now.
With enough personality and power to stay the course, Yealands scored the tricky Green Thai Curry Food Match Trophy with this textured wine. 'With stone fruit and lemons, this is a richer, riper style,' said Annette Scarfe MW, suggesting seafood or drinking as an aperitif. 'Fresh, super-ripe fruit and high acidity with green apple and gooseberry notes, and a good clean finish,' said James Hocking of The Vineyard Group.
Pungent bouquet - sweeter than some with more floral and pineapple-like characters. The palate is crisp and elegant with great varietal fruit concentration and excellent acidity.
